What is my role? Hello! I am the new Campus Sexual Violence Advocate from Peace Over Violence. My role on campus is to serve as your confidential resource and support person, in situations involving intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment and/or stalking. I am also here to introduce and engage in conversations surrounding the myths and facts about sexual and intimate partner violence, harassment and stalking.
Why is this work important to me? This work is important because survivors deserve emotional support and advocacy, whether they do or don't decide to report. As a confidential advocate, I am able to provide a safe space for survivors to disclose their experiences or stories regarding trauma, which in many cases is the first step in their journey towards healing. This work is important to me because if we can imagine a world without domestic and sexual violence, a world without domestic and sexual violence is possible.
Fun fact about me. A fun fact about me is that I'm only 5 feet tall! The same height as both my mother, my grandmother, my great grandmother, and my great great grandmother.
